A Sore Point

Posted by on Aug 4, 2011 in Blog | 0 comments

Frequent sores in the mouth in an otherwise healthy person are a nuisance and an inconvenience. One of the possible causes for this painful condition, that is often overlooked, is toothpaste allergy. By simply switching for a few months to a different brand of toothpaste such as baking soda toothpaste, oxyfresh or Xpure, the sores can be mostly eliminated. I found this helpful for many of my patients.

Please consult with your dentist or physician. Sores that do not heal require immediate attention.

The other story of honey

Honey has long been known as a nutritious food with many health benefits. Recently, there has been an increased use of honey as a sweetener in drinks, cereals and other breakfast foods. Because of this, I am seeing more patients with tooth decay. Typically, the decay shows up on Xrays and are usually in the root.  What I have seen is aggressive decay and usually the patients require root canal therapy and it is usually followed up by a crown restoration. I recommend reducing the intake of honey or using an alternative sweetener for those who have a problem with it. I would also encourage the use of a high fluoride tooth paste.

Dental Implants enable you to replace missing teeth and recapture the beauty and health of your smile after tooth loss.

The loss of a tooth, for whatever reason, can have a significant effect on your self-esteem, confidence and facial appearance not to mention the rest of your mouth.

Within our dental practice, we understand that losing a tooth can be a traumatizing experience. Our teeth play an essential role in our lives and a missing tooth can interrupt your dietary and oral hygiene habits. Implant crowns and implant supported fixed or removable teeth can help recapture your oral health after tooth loss as well as heighten the aesthetic appearance of your smile.
